Switzerland to pick on February 1st!

SRF, the Swiss broadcaster revealed that they will participate at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and also details about the National Final, which will take place on February 1st and not in December as they did in the past years. 
As usual, the artists can submit a song online starting from 30 September and until 28 October. The song submitted must be no longer than 3 minutes and not shorter than 2 minutes and 50 seconds. It also must not have been published before 1.9.2013.The minimum age of the performers is 16 years (Cut-off date 1.5.2014). There are no language requirements, but the song should not contain any political, racist or violent lyrics. 
After the deadline, online voting will kick off inviting the public to vote for their favorite songs. Simultaneously a special jury will also deliberate their verdict. Hence a total of nine candidates will be selected by SRF and RTR via a 50/50 jury-online voting mechanism.
The 2014 Swiss entry will be selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation. You can find the rules to compete in the Swiss national final here.
