Eurovision 2012 Review

 Eurovision is approaching and I have to say that not all fans are happy with the songs this year. We know half of the songs and only a few are good enough to enter the grand final. I will make a short review for each song and country.

1.Albania

 Rona has amazing vocals and I think the song is meant to promote only that. She screams a lot and well...that's all. I'm not impressed and a song like that will never pass the semifinals. As the ESC Media announced, the song will be revamped in America. Let's hope that a miracle will happen and we will hear a great song just like Juliana's "It's all about you".

 Later Edit: The video came out but the song remained the same and it's still in Albanian. Now I kind of like it...but still it's not what Eurovision needs. 

2.Finland

 It's funny that the song is in Swedish and not in English or even Finnish. Good vocals but the song has nothing special to offer. I didn't enjoyed a Finnish entry since 2009 and now again i'll have to put Finland on the bottom of my Top. I guess the song won't change anymore and well....Good Luck Finland, I'm sure you will need it!

3.Iceland

 Finally a great song from Iceland! I had to wait one year to hear something good from Iceland. Amazing vocals and that drama sound brings something new to Eurovision. Personally I think that the song will sound good in English but if they will not change it I will be pleased. ( Icelandic sounds GREAT )

 Later Edit: The video and new version came out and it's even better! This could win Eurovision in May!

4.Latvia

 After two semifinals and a final Latvia choose Anmary to represent them in Baku. A great choice, a great song and great singer. I know that many fans don't enjoy the song that much but after the revamp the song will sound much better. I will support Latvia and I think that "Beautiful Song"has a lot to offer!

 Later Edit: The video was released and now everyone seems to enjoy the song ... I hope that Latvia will qualify to the Final.

5.Switzerland

 At the beginning I have to confess that I didn't enjoyed the song but now after hearing the others I think that Switzerland has strong chances to qualify this year. Of course in their National Selection they had a lot of good songs but as usual Switzerland choose something mediocre. Good vocals and good refrain, probably a qualifier this year?

6.Austria

 Great! Austrian porno performance combined with cheap hip hop. !DelaDap's "Crazy Swing"which was disqualified was my favorite and probably in top 3 at the Eurovision Song Contest. I'm sorry for Austria because of this choice, I'm sure that this song won't qualify but hopefully in 2013 we'll hear a new Nadine.

 Later  Edit: I have to confess that I had a nightmare with this song a few days ago.

7.Cyprus

 Here we have an amazing song with a beautiful singer."La La Love" was my favorite since I first heard the three songs which competed at their National Selection. Great choice Cyprus! Though I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed because Ivi did playback at the National Final but Why? Does she sing bad live? Did she had some vocal problems? It seems that we will find out the truth in early May. Good Luck Cyprus! 

 Later Edit: The video came out and everything is going great for Cyprus, they have a lot of fans but still we DID NOT hear her sing the song LIVE!

8.Denmark

 As usual Denmark sends amazing songs and singers. I'm pleased with Denmark's choice this year, Soluna's song is really good and her vocals deserve a Nobel prize. The composition is great and probably will end top 10 this year. ( I will vote for Denmark in Baku)

9.Hungary

 I don't like the song that much. I mean the song has a good composition with great singers but I don't see nothing special in it. Hungary will not be in my top 15 this year. 

 Later Edit: The video was released and now I love the song! I had to analyse it a lot to realize that in fact the song was a masterpiece! 

10.Ireland

 I don't like the song but I have to admit that is better than last year. I'm thinking that Ireland has no more good music and they put Swedish composers to write their Eurovision songs and send the same artists all over again. Come on Ireland! You can do more than that!

 Later Edit: I still think the song sucks! 

11.Israel

 Dear Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the 70's and we have Izabo performing "Time". I'm disappointed for Israel's choice... maybe they will do better next time. The song won't be in my top 20. Sorry

 Later Edit: Well the video was released and now I kind of like it but still I don't think we have a qualifier here. 

12.Belarus

 I don't want to be mean but what is going on with Belarus? The president changed the song for a horrible one. I hate to see that Belarus and it's communist rulers involve in Eurovision stuff. Pity Belarus! That's a good reason I wish you will withdraw next year.

13.Malta

 They had so many good songs in their National Final and they choose "This is the night" performed by Kurt. The song is boring and it sounds just like a cheap copy from other songs. No final for Malta this year?

14.Ukraine

 It seems that in Ukraine have the same problems just like in Belarus. I think they're using Eurovision to promote the Football Championship ( just like France in 2010 ). Good Luck Ukraine but personally I hope you will stay out from the final.

 Later Edit: As a reminder Ukraine is NOT America!

15.Croatia

 Nothing special, boring song in a strange laguage. It seems that Croatia will continue with bad results and probably will withdraw next year.

 Later Edit: After the video was released... I've decided to go to the toilet when Croatia will enter the stage. 

16.Georgia

 This is just the worst song in the entire History of the Eurovision Song Contest. I will avoid to comment because I don't have what to analyse. Cheap lyrics, composition + bad vocals. Bad very Bad Georgia!

17.Norway

 Finally a good song and great performance. Norway bids for another win this year! Tooji has everything to win Eurovision. The song is great and really catchy. Good Luck Norway!

  Later Edit: But still I have to remind everyone that Tooji did 75% playback and we may have a horrible surprise just like in 2011. Let's hope the best for Norway! 

18.Turkey


 I think that Turkish language was a better choice for this song. Personally I don't like the song that much and I won't be surprised to see Turkey out of the Final again this year. The video is interesting but the singer is not suitable for this song...it doesn't satisfy my tastes in music.

19.France

 I had to listen a few times to this song to 'grow' on me. I think that the vocals are great ( even though Anggun does playback ) and I've heard that the video will be shoot this week in Bucharest. A great song and great singer! Good Luck France.

20.Germany

 Good vocals and the song is nice but I don't think it will be appreciated that much. I kind of like it and I hope for a top 15 for Germany this year. 

21.Bulgaria

  So our beloved neighbors thought that 'copy - pasting' INNA will bring them the victory in Baku. Seriously Bulgaria? That song is a big sh*t. No message - cheap composition. Null points from me and I'm sorry If I offended someone's music tastes but let's be serious.... OMG!

22. Bosnia and Herzegovina

 I expected an amazing entry this year from Bosnia ( just like the past years ) but they're sending a boring ballad. I don't like it and I think that for the first time Bosnia will miss the Final...well I guess their 'brother countries' will give them enough points to qualify ( I will be very pissed off )
