Allisons member Bob Allison has died today after some time with illness, he was 72.
Bob (who's real name was Bernard Colin Day) met his bandmate John Allison in the 1950's, they formed The Allisons and represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961, finishing second out of sixteen entries. Luxembourg won the event with "Nous les amoureux".
In a BBC Radio 2 poll earilier this year Are You Sure was voted the thirteenth best UK entry. His bandmate John wrote today on the BBC website "We had a lovely sound".
